Sweet and Sour Cauliflower Recipe

Happy Sunday Funday Everyone! I am a lot ( LOL) late with posting some recipies but here goes! More plant based goodness for you to try out! Please follow me on IG and on facebook @livinvegetarian! Tag me if you decided to make any of the recipes I post.

  1. One head of cauliflower
  2. seltzer water
  3. flour
  4. garlic powder
  5. onion powder
  6. salt
  7. pepper
  8. creole seasoning
  9. Vegetable oil

-To get started you will need two bowls. One for the dry batter and one for the wet batter.

-Break apart the cauliflower head into bite sized pieces

-Season cauliflower with salt and pepper, and garlic and onion powder

-Pour 1/2 cup seltzer water and cup of flour in one bowl and mix. Consistency should be like pancake batter so add more water and flour as needed.

-Season wet batter with 1/2 teaspoon of each of the seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder and creole seasoning)

-Now pour a cup and a half of flour into your other bowl.

-Season with 1/4 teaspoon of each of the seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder and creole seasoning)

-Put 1 1/2 cup oil in cast iron pan and heat. (If you have a deep fryer follow the directions for that on frying veggies)

-Take your seasoned cauliflower and dip in wet batter then dry

-Place each piece of cauliflower in hot oil. Fry until golden brown!

After all cauliflower is fried drain on paper towel to drain access oil.

Take some of the cauliflower place in a separate bowl and toss in sweet and sour sauce ( I used Blue Dragon Sweet and Sour Sauce) You can also make your own.

-I do not toss all of the cauliflower as I do like to leave a few pieces plain

-I made Jasmine rice and sauteed string beans for the sides
